Izmaylovo Kremlin was built in the 1990s as a new attraction for tourists, both Russian and foreign, representing pseudo-Russian architecture style and accumulating all the most ‘Russian’ things that anyone can think of: Kremlin, an acting wooden church built without a single nail, Vodka Museum (currently closed), Russian Toy Museum and of course the most famous souvenir market and ‘flea’ market (on Sunday mornings only).
Izmaylovo Kremlin & Market is located at metro station Partizanskaya (dark-blue line) just behind the hotel complex Izmaylovo – so very easy to find!
Although this location does not bear any historical significance, it is very picturesque and is definitely worth visiting at least for colourful photos and souvenir shopping. Don’t forget to bargain at the market, you can get up to 50% off if you are really good at it!
And surely, we can add this attraction to any of our walking tours or you can build up your own itinerary with it if you book our Tour of Your Choice.
Please keep in mind that we require at least 2 hours for this visit – you won’t be able to take your eyes off the souvenirs there!
See you in Moscow!
